Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 13, 2026
Plain-language summary first; full terms below. This is not legal advice. If anything here conflicts with applicable law, the law wins.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how the operators of FPS.monster (“we”, “us”) handle information when you use fps.monster and related tools (the “Service”). It should be read with our Terms of Service.
Retailers you visit after leaving our site have their own policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
2. Transparency principles
- Minimize. We try to collect only what we need to operate rankings, security, and reliability.
- No sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly defined under U.S. state privacy laws (including CCPA/CPRA “sell” / “share” for cross-context behavioral advertising). We do not operate a third-party ad exchange on the Service.
- Clear purpose. Catalog data is about products. Analytics are about how the Service is used. Admin credentials are for operators only.
- You can ask. Email [email protected] for access, deletion, or questions.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide
- URLs & tool inputs. If you use Analyze or similar tools, you submit a product URL or specs. Do not submit passwords or private documents.
- Messages. Emails you send us (e.g. support or privacy requests), including your address and message content.
- Admin credentials. Operator email/password for staff access — not used for public accounts today.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage telemetry. Page path, approximate referrer, optional product id, and a random visitor identifier we store in your browser’s
localStorage(fdf_vid) so we can understand repeat visits without asking you to create an account. - Outbound click events. When you click through to a retailer, we may record that a click occurred (and related product / destination metadata) as first-party analytics so we can understand which listings are useful — not to pay or attribute affiliate commissions today.
- Technical logs. Standard server/proxy logs such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, and requested URLs — used for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
- Cookies. See Cookies & similar technologies.
3.3 Product catalog data (not about you)
We crawl and store publicly available listing information (titles, prices, specs, images, stock signals). That dataset is about products and sellers, not about individual shoppers, except where your own submissions or clicks create a usage record as described above.
4. How we use information
- Operate, rank, and display the deal catalog;
- Improve FPS models, filters, search, and site performance;
- Measure which listings and pages are useful;
- Secure the Service (fraud, abuse, intrusion detection);
- Schedule and monitor overnight marketplace crawls;
- Respond to your requests and meet legal obligations;
- If we later join affiliate or referral programs, process the limited click metadata those partners require (we will update this Policy before that begins).
We do not use your browsing data to build dossiers for sale to data brokers.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Legitimate interests — operating a public catalog, securing infrastructure, understanding aggregate usage;
- Contract / steps prior to contract — when you ask us to analyze a URL or respond to a support request;
- Consent — where required for non-essential cookies or similar tech;
- Legal obligation — when we must retain or disclose information.
6. Cookies & similar technologies
| Name / type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
fdf_vid (localStorage) | Anonymous visitor id for usage analytics | Until you clear site data |
fdf_admin_session | Signed staff admin session (opaque; not your password) | Up to 14 days |
fdf_admin_email | Staff email display / session companion cookie | Up to 14 days |
| Essential host / CDN cookies | Security, load balancing, TLS | As set by infrastructure |
We do not currently deploy third-party advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this Policy and, where required, ask for consent.
7. Sharing
We share information only as needed:
- Processors — hosting, database, email, error monitoring, AI providers used to parse listings (they process data under our instructions);
- Affiliate / retail partners (future) — if and when we enable affiliate programs, limited referral signals when you click out; we do not share click data with affiliate networks today;
- Legal / safety — when required by law or to protect rights, users, or the Service;
- Business transfers — if we undergo a merger or asset sale, subject to continued protection commitments.
8. Retention
- Product catalog data — while relevant to the Service;
- Page views / clicks — typically rolling windows sufficient for analytics and abuse review (we aim to aggregate or delete older raw rows);
- Server logs — commonly 30–90 days unless investigating an incident;
- Email correspondence — as needed to resolve your request;
- Admin audit artifacts — per operational need.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to a small production deployment (access-controlled admin surfaces, HTTPS in production, secret management via environment variables, least-privilege database access, and scheduled overnight crawls to reduce daytime load). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Report suspected vulnerabilities to [email protected].
10. International transfers
We may process data in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate transfer safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) with processors.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information; to object or restrict certain processing; and to appeal a denial. California residents may have rights under CCPA/CPRA (including to know, delete, and correct). We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
To exercise rights, email [email protected] with enough detail to locate your data (for example, your visitor id if you have it, or the email you used to contact us). We may need to verify your request.
You can clear localStorage / cookies in your browser to reset the anonymous visitor id.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Do Not Track
There is no consistent industry standard for DNT browser signals. We do not respond to DNT at this time. We will update this section if that changes.
14. Changes
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Significant changes may also be highlighted on the site.
